Clearing up those gas bills
Leigh Anne Aaron, of the University of Georgia's Cooperative Extension, was the guest speaker at the Washington Kiwanis Club's meeting on Tuesday, March 18. "Natural Gas and Energy Education" was the title of her program, the purpose of which was to educate consumers about the use, efficiency, and deregulation of the gas industry in Georgia. She told members that there were 1.6 million natural gas users in Georgia, and 1,446 of those are in Wilkes County. She also told members that senior citizen discounts are available with different discounts based on age alone, as well as age and income. To have your gas bill questions answered, Aaron can be reached at 1-800-ASKUGA1 or via email at laa@uga.edu. Lee Benner (left) was the program host for the day.
