The North Wilkes Library is fortunate in having two computers now. One will be used with children's games. Thanks to Carol McTier and Sybil Ashmore who donated books last week. I know that last Saturday was not a good day for storytime with the kids because of the stormy weather, but the storyteller was there. I started to just read to Becky Dixon. Hopefully we will have some beautiful Saturdays that the children can come out to hear a story. .Visiting with Sara Frances Henderson Sunday afternoon were Creight and Cheryl Henderson of Beech Island, S.C. .Danny and Tammy Price spent the weekend in Kansas with Bridgit Lane and Cobey. . There will be a breakfast of pancakes and sausage on Easter morning at Tignall Baptist Church beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Family Life Center. .Saturday, March 22, from 2 to 4 p.m. is the annual Easter egg hunt for the pre-school and children's departments at the Tignall Baptist Family Life Center. Members of the church are asked to donate plastic eggs filled with candy. The children's department would like "glow in the dark" or "lights out" eggs if possible. Let's hope the children won't have a cold Easter egg hunt. Rev, Dale Fincher said Saturday that his little granddaughter, Jade, who is about 18 months old, has been training for Easter egg hunting. She is ready! I remember my grandson Curt on his first Easter egg hunt. Instead of looking for eggs, he was busy getting eggs out of other children's baskets. Why look for them when someone else had already found some? The little ones usually stop after finding one egg and want to take time to eat them as they go along. .Layton and Gloria Harris enjoyed so much the "Peaches to Beaches" yard sale on Friday and Saturday. The sale starts in Culloden (below Perry) and ends in Brunswick (Layton's birth place.) There were 24 towns and communities participating in this event. If you really want a good physical workout then this is an excellent way to get one. Layton and Gloria actually did 50 (including) two estate sales along the route, passing up at least 20 to 25. Along the route they met up with cousins from Washington, Athens, and Jesup. One of Layton's cousins was there in a booth sponsored by her church. She is on the kidney transplant list. Many churches and community listings were participating to raise funds for needy people. This is really a sociable event as you meet so many interesting and friendly people -- Southern Hospitality! .Chris and Angie Keener, Madison and Nolan of Loganville spent the weekend with Hugh and Nobie Keener. .We were sorry to hear that Joan Baker was in a wreck last week, but are glad to know she is not hurt except for being very sore from the air bag. .Beulah Baptist Church is sponsoring a chicken barbecue on March 22 starting at 11 a.m. at the Beulah Fire Station. The plates will be $6 each and proceeds go toward the building fund of the church. There will also be a bake sale at the firestation on this day. An easy way to remember this is that this is the opening day for turkey season. .Sympathy is extended to the family of Teresa Davis Arnold who passed away last weekend. She was the sister of Sherry Standard, Gary Davis, and twin sister of the late Terry Davis. She was the aunt of Blake and Aubrey Davis. .Let's remember the following people in our prayers: Mary Ann Williams as she is going through eye surgeries and Vivian Wolozin as she spent the weekend in Wills Memorial Hospital. Kathy and Dale Robertson of Winder spent some time with Vivian while she was in the hospital. Let's also remember Andrew Stringer, Sue Bufford's and Troy and Bonnie Brown's grandson in-law. He has a critical heart condition and is only 31 years old. Andrew is the husband of Andrea, daughter of Ray and Gail Brown.
