After such awful weather Saturday we were thankful for a beautiful day Sunday and are hoping it will be as nice for Easter this Sunday. Following worship service, a covered dish meal will be served and weather permitting there will be an egg hunt for the small children. .Visiting Mr. and Mrs. James Sherrer for the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Coxe and Edna Sherrer of Bennettsville, S.C.; Nikki Sherrer and her fiance Keith Sanders, both of Raleigh. On Saturday morning they went to Carlton and met James' nephew, Ronnie Smith, his wife Elaine, their daughter Elizabeth, and her friend Joe of Covington. Since the weather was cold, wet, and windy, they had an inside picnic and spent several hours together. As we were leaving Carlton the dark clouds gathered but we managed to stay ahead of it. As we passed through Elberton the tornado siren was on. Even though the weather was bad, we had a good time together. After breakfast Sunday morning they left to return to their homes in Bennettsville and Raleigh. .Madison Kay of Raytown spent last Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. Ricky McCarty. On Sunday, March 9, Mr. and Mrs. McCarty met her sister, Gail Hammock, of Warwick, in Gray and had lunch together. .Mr. and Mrs. Tad Hopkins III of Eatonton visited his grandmother, Mrs. Iris Dyson, Sunday afternoon. .Elizabeth Barber and Chris Conway of Athens had lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance Saturday. .Mrs. Ricky McCarty attended a bridal shower for Hannah Batrous in Thomson Saturday afternoon. .We were glad that Mrs. Juanita Bradford received a good report from her doctor in Augusta. .Mrs. Cheryl Holsclaw spent Sunday afternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Ricky McCarty.
