Walter Lee Booker

Funeral services for Walter Lee Booker, 63, were held Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Heard's Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis J. Quinn officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. He died Monday, March 10, at McDuffie Regional Medical Center, Thomson.

Mr. Booker was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Joe and Geneva Booker.

Survivors include his wife, Frances C. Booker of Washington; two daughters, Margene Wylie and Coretta Cullars of Washington; a son, Walter Booker Jr. of Washington; a stepdaughter, Jackie Cullars of Washington; a sister, Margaret B. Mayes of Washington; two brothers, Larry Booker and Robert Booker of Washington; and 11 grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Larry Booker Jr., Roy Brittain, Jimmy Cullars, Paul Cullars, Gary Mayes, and Arthur Willis.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
