Karmen Davis celebrates first birthday Mar. 12

Karmen Alicia Davis, daughter of Donisha and Martell Davis of Athens, was one year old on March 12.

She celebrated a few days before on Saturday, March 8, at the home of her grandparents, Melissa and Willie Turman in Washington.

Amid a princess theme, guests enjoyed pizza, chips, cake and ice cream. Karmen was treated to her own personal cake decorated with pink and white icing.

The children enjoyed hitting the princess piñata and a dance contest as well as many other games.

Each received a goody bag.

Celebrating with Karmen and her parents were her grandparents, Melissa and Willie Turman and Althea Hardin; great-grandmother, Emma Jean Norman; aunts, Peggy Jenkins, Mary Jo Gresham, Marshell Sanders, Alice Maddox, Felicia Hampton, Pattie Booker, and 50 other family members and friends. Out-of-town guests included her great-great-aunt, Alice Maddox; aunt, Marshell Sanders; cousins, Shaun Gleaton, Star, Bryce and Jordan Hicks, Latoya Turner and Cashondra Sanders, all of Atlanta, and Summer Anderson of Lawrenceville. Special guest was her uncle, Gary Wilburn Jr., who was on spring break from the University of Connecticut, and her uncle, Broderick Booker, and cousin, A.J. Booker, of Virginia.

Karmen received many special gifts that included two Build-ABears from her parents.
