Katherine Green Coleman to wed Jay Brown Johnson on June 28

Doctor and Mrs. Charles Hamilton Coleman Jr. of Augusta announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine Green Coleman, to Jay Brown Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Laurie Johnson Jr. of Birmingham, Ala.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Porter Barrett Cohen and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hamilton Coleman of Waynesboro. Her grandmother, Mrs. Cohen, is the former Mimi DuBose Cheney of Washington.

Miss Coleman is a graduate of Westminster Preparatory School in Augusta and Auburn University in Auburn, Ala., where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. At Auburn, she received a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies. Currently, she is attending Oglethorpe University in Atlanta where, in May, she will obtain her Masters in Elementary Education in Art and Teaching. Miss Coleman is employed by Pace Academy in Atlanta as a teacher's associate.

Mr. Johnson is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Butler Mitchell Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kay Patton, all of Birmingham, Ala.

He is a graduate of Briarwood Christian School in Birmingham, Ala., and Auburn University where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta and received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing. Mr. Johnson is employed by RPA Incorporated where he is a regional sales representative.

The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 28, at First Presbyterian Church in Augusta.
