Paxton presents program at Iris Garden Club meeting Marcia Paxton presented the program at the Iris Garden Club meeting Tuesday, March 11, at the Parish House of the Church of the Mediator. Mrs. Paxton gave an extremely informative program on local trees and shrubs that were popular in the colonial period. Prior to her presentation and business meeting, members enjoyed refreshments served by hostesses, Gail Boyd, Mary Craven, Bernie Pope and Sharlene Zima. Karen Stubbs, president, called the meeting to order and Jackie Gale gave the Collect. Mrs. Stubbs welcomed members and thanked the hostesses. She continued the meeting as she gave a report on the care of cut flowers. Rachel Arnold reported that the nursing home garden committee worked in the garden cleaning, moving shrubs and mulching. Cathy Stackhouse reported that a tree was planted in honor of Arbor Day. It was announced that the program for the April 8 meeting would be a tour of Post Oak Farms.
