Colton Bearse celebrates with family, friends

Colton Timothy Bearse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Bearse, celebrated his eighth birthday on March 4 and was honored on several occasions.

Colton cel - ebrated on his birthday by sharing football cupcakes, juice and goody bags containing pencils, candy and erasers with his second grade classmates at Washington Wilkes Primary School. That night Colton enjoyed supper at LaCabana with his parents, his sister, Whitney, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bearse.

On Saturday, March 8, Colton celebrated his birthday with a Georgia Bulldogs party theme at The Ark of the First Baptist Church in Washington. Red and black balloons, football balloons and Georgia Bulldog balloons were used as decorations. As part of his special day, Colton was thrilled to have his friend and University of Georgia football player, Casey Nickels, as his special guest.

Colton and his guests enjoyed a Georgia field theme cake, Oreos, chips and salsa, vegetables and dips, Cheetos, ice cream, football-shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and drinks.

After enjoying snacks and opening gifts, the children enjoyed going over to the playground and playing a football game with Casey and Colton's father serving as coaches. Colton and Casey's team thoroughly enjoyed their victory.

After the game, Colton and his guests returned to The Ark where Colton gave his guests goody bags containing candy, pencils, erasers, book bag notepads and sports stickers.

Celebrating with Colton and his parents were his sister, Whitney; grandparents, Mrs. Clarence Nunn and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bearse; Mr. And Mrs. Steve Albertson and Christina, Mrs. Jason Brock, Hunter and Bailey, Mrs. Jim Bennett, Zack and Jake, Taylor Echols, Mrs. Craig Gammon and Curt, Mrs. Eric Holton, Ethan and Eli, Mr. and Mrs. Kerry McAvoy Jr., James, Paige and Erin, J.T. Mack, Mrs. Shane Moore, Lindsey and Walker, Matt Shedd, Chase Shelton, Wes Tanner, and Mrs. Earl Tawzer and Garrett.

As an additional treat, Colton, Walker Moore, Casey Nickels and Colton's father enjoyed an evening of skeet shooting at the home of Colton's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Bearse.
