Water damage makes chimneys dangerous
Todd Lewis, a certified chimney sweep of TnT Quality Services of Washington was the guest speaker at the Washington Kiwanis Club on Tuesday, March 25. Lewis reviewed residential chimney safety tips with members and told them that water damage causes most chimneys to become unsafe. He provided a number of tips for avoiding water damage to chimneys and the adjacent surrounding structures. Lewis said that unsafe chimneys cause a significantnumber of deaths each year and produce over $200 million dollars of property loss. Kerry McAvoy (left) was the program host for the day.
