Here's a trick to keep older kids interested in hunting Easter eggs. Put money inside the eggs and playing egg fights with the boiled and dyed eggs. Celeste Adams said her grandchildren had more fun with those egg fights and then the dogs cleaned them up. Visiting O'Neal and Celeste Adams for the weekend were Joe and Kimberly Coots, Chase and Connor of Ranger. .Many of the churches in the area had Easter sunrise services with breakfast following. I know of Mallorysville Baptist and they had theirs at 8 a.m., and Tignall Baptist and Independence United Methodist had theirs at 8:30 a.m. I don't think any of them really are actually at sunrise. Now Beulah Baptist really did see the sunrise because their service started at 7 a.m. They had breakfast after the service and an Easter egg hunt for the children after the breakfast. .The children at Tignall Baptist Church had the annual Easter egg hunt Saturday before Easter. They enjoyed party foods and Jackie Long presenting the Easter story to the children before the hunt. I'm glad children are learning the true meaning of Easter. The smaller children had their egg hunt outside but the older children had an egg hunt upstairs in the dark Sunday School classrooms with the "glow in the dark" eggs. .The two children's choir groups, Kids Alive Too and Kids Alive, did a super job Sunday at Tignall Baptist. The Kids Alive Too had speaking parts (3-5 year olds) and actually passed the microphone to each other. They were so excited about using the microphone that they forgot to be nervous. I didn't see a nervous kid there. After the speaking parts, they sang "Jesus Loves Me." The Kids Alive group sang "There Is a Redeemer." The adult worship choir did as their special music, "Resurrection Medley." They also did a wonderful job.

The Tignall Baptist Women's Ministry invites everyone to stay after church next Sunday, March 30, for a soup and sandwich lunch after the worship service. There is no charge, but donations are welcomed. .Beulah Baptist Church had a successful barbecue chicken fundraiser last Saturday. .Fishing Creek Baptist had the annual Easter egg hunt behind the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jamie Head. The kids hunted Easter eggs and then they fished in the pond. About 20 children and adults had a great time. ."Mountain Joy," a singing group from Hazelwood, N.C., will be coming to Fishing Creek Baptist Church Saturday during the time for their Country Cooking Supper. The proceeds will go to the Ernest (Tubby) Clark family who just lost their home in a firelast week. This will be an opportunity to eat a good meal and listen to some great singing, and going to a good cause. Fishing Creek Baptist will be having Baptist Men's Day on Sunday morning, March 30. .This same singing group, Mountain Joy, will be going to Beulah Baptist Church on Sunday morning and will be there during their Sunday School hour from 10:00-11:00 a.m. So you have two chances to hear this group. .Frankie and Gloria Ware had a hamburger cookout Sunday afternoon and an Easter egg hunt for the grandchildren. Those family members enjoying the day with the Wares were Kristy and Madi Bufford of Thomson; John David and Renee Flanagan, Aubrey and Jewell, Keith and Teresa Ware, Nicole, Kal, and Nick, Amber Ware and Rose Ware. .Mr. and Mrs. Scott Ware and Stacey had dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Vandiver in Union Point Sunday. .Mike and Miriam Bobo of Mc- Donough spent the weekend with Graydon and Pat Bobo and attended church with them Sunday. .Having dinner with Richard and Carolyn Gammon Sunday were Alex and Kay Tyler, Craig and Sandra Gammon, Curt, Kara, and Kaci. Kaci was trying to help Carolyn findsome spring shoes that she could wear Sunday. She said, "Mimi, even though you're old, you can still wear pretty shoes." It's good old age hasn't taken everything away. .Spending the day with Tony and Marion Hammond on Sunday were Marc and Heather Hammond, Brock and Camden, and Bill and Terri Hammond, Lola and Makayla of Crawford. They all went to Easter sunrise service together at Mallorysville Baptist Church. After dinner the children enjoyed about 13 egg hunts. .Spending from Friday through Tuesday of this week with Danny and Tammy Price were Jason and Jessica Mathias, Austin and Evie of Mississippi. .Spending the weekend with Myrline Thornton were Rudy and Mary Jacobs of Monticello. Joining them Sunday and attending Tignall Baptist Church with Myrline were Jerry Thornton, Carol Rufner, Jake, Whitney and Morgan of McDonough. Joining the group for dinner at Myrline's were Jeff and Jennifer Thornton, Alicia Thornton, and Robert Randolph, all of Athens. .There was a churchwide covered dish going-away party for Doris Smathers on Sunday, March 16, at Mallorysville. Doris is moving back to Waynesville, N.C., to be closer to her children. She will be missed by the community. .Kaitlyn Denard of Elberton will be spending part of her spring holidays this week with Ralph and Mary Will Denard. .Visiting with Charles and Elizabeth Smith from Sunday through Wednesday were their son and his family, Curt and Lorie Smith, Nicole and Owen of Adell. She had to be taken to the hospital Saturday, but after being given some fluids returned home. .Andrew Stringer, grandson-in-law of Sue Bufford and Mr. and Mrs. Troy Brown, is still in very critical condition. Also Troy Brown's twin brother, Foy Brown of California, was to have had gall bladder surgery last weekend and is having some other problems.
