Family safe in Lexington Avenue crash

Firefightersfrom Rescue 1 secure crash victim Regina Edwards preparing to take her to Wills Memorial Hospital after she crashed her Jeep Cherokee into a power pole in the 200 block of Lexington Avenue Monday. A toddler in a car carrier was not injured. The crash broke off the power pole at the ground and left power lines, phone lines, and TV cables dangling over Lexington Avenue. Authorities shut down traffic on the street while Washington city Electric Department workers replaced the pole.
