Basketball awards presented at annual banquet; Lucious Stewart gets top honor
Members of the Washington- Wilkes Tiger boys basketball team received special individual awards and the team was recognized as Region 8AA champion at the team's annual banquet held at the school last week.
Varsity players receiving awards were (top photo, l-r) Ricardo Davis, Most Improved; Deandre Stewart, Hustle Award; Lucious Stewart, Most Valuable Player; Akeimos Coleman, Sixth Man Award; Jarekus Bowman, Best Defensive Player; Quincey Bradley, Best Free Throw Percentage and 105.1 Academic Award; and Scotty Long, Most Blocks.
B-Team members receiving awards (middle photo, l-r) Neko Jones, Most Improved; Matson Keiser, Best Free Throw Percentage; Teverius Jones, Most Valuable Player; Deon Jackson, Best Defensive Player; Desmond Jackson, Best Offensive Player; and Eric Scott, Hustle Award.
