W-WMS Corner
The W-W Middle School baseball team played its last games on March 29 beginning at 11 a.m. It was a double-header against Lincoln County. In their first game they were defeated 6-1. The second game was a victory for the Tigers with a score of 5-1. This makes their season record 9-2. During this semester, many different registrations are taking place at the middle school. Upcoming eighth-graders' parents and guardians should attend the parent meeting on April 28 at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria concerning high school registration for upcoming classes. Many middle school students have been participating in several recent town events. The WJBF Channel 6 News Team visited Washington on Friday, March 28. They requested Tiger Band members to play on the square for their new "Your Hometown" feature. Thirteen students from the high school and middle school participated. They were Christina Albertson, Brittany Guin, Whitney Branham, Fallon West, Jordan Echols, Michael Pharr, Evan Harrison, Damon Norman, Josh McLeroy, Ana Turner, John Pope, Thomas Booker, and Michael Blakey. They played stand tunes from 5:45-6:30 p.m. during the commercial breaks. Thanks for representing our school, Tigers!
Lise Kalla's eighth-grade technology students have been profilingcareers of interest. In order to complete the project, they were required to address 12 specific topics and to create a PowerPoint, which they presented to their class. A list of all information and picture sources was included on a final slide. Students gathered materials from GACollege411 and the Holland Codes. Gloria Rhodes' eighth-grade Career Connections classes were invited to observe the presentations and students who weren't presenting were required to critique their classmates using a rubric. "The students did an impressive job, and it was obviously a great learning experience," Rhodes said.
