Eat, Drink, and be Merry
By GARY TOOLE
I just got to thinking as I often do without putting too much of a strain on my old noggin'. The Bible says that in the last days, people will be eating and drinking to excess. They will be marrying and giving in marriage; getting hitched and then unhitched in other words.

Well, here we are! We have arrived. Folks are certainly doing almost everything to excess. You can go into any town and there are more eating and drinking joints than there is anything else. Don't get me wrong. I love to eat as good as anyone. I grew up and now I'm growing out, but we can't just write everything off and say, "Oh, well! We just can't help ourselves."

The Cajuns out in Louisiana say, "Let the good times roll." Well, truly in these last days, folks are as the Word of God says, "Lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God," and, yes, "eating and drinking and trying to be merry." Some are literally trying to be MARY if you know what I mean.

The Word also says, "As in the days of Noah so shall it be when Jesus returns." That time is now. God is not going to always strive with mankind. Amen. So many are not concerned about their soul, about God and about the church. Most folks go to church when they're hatched, when they're matched, and when they're snatched, but let me tell you, "God wants all that's in between too."

So many are just wanting to let the good times roll; eating, drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage. Saying, "Life is short, so I'm going to have a good time while I can. Live it up today and don't worry about tomorrow." How sad, because we have no promise of tomorrow."

If we die lost then we will have to face God and the Word says that it is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of a living God. Get right now, before it's too late. Never before has the time of His return been so close at hand. Can you say amen?
