Wilkes Sunday School Union meets with Marks Tabernacle Baptist Church

The Wilkes County Sunday School Union convened with the Marks Tabernacle Baptist Church March 28-30.

Rev. Lance Pitts served as host pastor and Albert Shank served as host superintendent.

The session was opened by the president, Jamie Johnson. The deovtional service was led by James Avery and Larry Campbell. Singing was by the congregation. The sermon was preached by Rev. Kathy Butler entitled "Bring Nothiing, Take Nothing."

The Saturday session was opened by President Johnson and the devo- tional service was led by Donald Hulin and Albert Rucker. The youth devotional leaders were Thomas Booker and David Taylor.

Albert Shank welcomed those attending and the 45-minute Bible lesson was taught by Eddie Finnell. The youth teacher was Marie Hawes.

During the business session it was announced that Twin Oak Sunday School will sponsor a health fair in April and will have a barbecue plate sale to benefit the American Cancer Society.

The doctriinal sermon was preached by Rev. Larry Norman entitled "Don't Believe Everything You Hear."

During the youth session, Thomas Booker presided as president and Jamia Johnson, secretary. The inspirational address was by Tramad Daniels. The Bible Bowl was led by Rev. Ed Anderson and the benediction by Rev. Pitts.

President Johjnson opened the Sunday morning session. Willie Hampton and Albert Shank led the devotional service. Larry Smith presided as Sunday School superintendent. The inspirational address was presented by Larry Smith entitled "God Will Make a Way."

Singing was by the Springfield Community Choir. The missionary sermon was delivered by Rev. H.M. Easley entitled "Today, If You Hear His Voice, Harden Not Your Heart." Rev. Easley led the benediction.

The next Union session will be June 27-29 at New Ford Baptist Church.

Robin Booker is secretary for the Union and Melvene Binns is assistant secretary.
