Aonia News It has been kind of unusual weather, cold, hot, windy, rainy, cool, and hot. Maybe the rain washed some pollen away. There surely was an awful amount of lightening Friday night. You did not need headlights to see while driving in the storm. • Rev. Sherman (Skip) Padgett was the guest speaker for Ebenezer Baptist Church Sunday in the absence of Dr. Dupree. After the service, a meal was enjoyed by those who chose to stay. Mrs. Padgett was also able to attend the service. • Happy birthday to all who are celebrating birthdays this week. The one I am aware of is Linda Albea on April 7. Happy birthday Linda. • I made a trip to Augusta Tuesday to the dentist. I also had a fenderbender with a Lexus SUV. No one was hurt. • Shannon Thomason and I attended the play, "Fiddler On the Roof," Sunday afternoon. Afterwards I visited patients at Wills Memorial Hospital. • Russell Goldman of Doraville spent Sunday with his mother, Sarah Huff. Sarah, Russell, Linda Standard, and Fran Connell had dinner together at Alfred's in Washington. • Barbara Adams, Betty Moore, Jean Steed, and Rose Ware enjoyed the play Sunday. Bill Steed was in the play. • Linda Standard and Sarah Huff visited Miss Grace Dunaway and Alex Dunaway Sunday afternoon. • Richard and Brenda Phillips are feeling better after being ill for several weeks. Stephanie Haynes, Chip and Skyla spent Friday night and Saturday with the Phillipses. • Rebecca Phillips is visiting Mr. and Mrs. David Harris in Kansas City, Kansas, this week. • Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Ryll, Connor and Calley are spending spring holidays at Myrtle Beach, S.C. • Blake Amis and Charles Wood visited Roy Chesnut last weekend. • Trudy Ingram and Mrs. Betty Crawford of Appling visited Mrs. Crawford's sisters in Panama City, Fla., last week. • Pat Tuttle visited Mr. and Mrs. Hill O'Neal each day last week. Mr. and Mrs. O'Neal have not been well. Saturday, Mrs. Henry O'Pry of Athens spent the weekend with the O'Neals. • Pat Tuttle, Rhonda Newsome and Jacob enjoyed a trip to Athens Sunday. • Happy anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Burdette on April 8. • Mrs. Elizabeth Dunnaway is still not doing well after her surgery. We hope she improves soon. • I spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. Nick Gaines, Trace and Tanner in Winterville. We all enjoyed dinner at Fatz to help celebrate Nick Gaines' birthday.
