By SAMILLE SHERRER Please call 706-678-7363

Due to the time change and a lot of sickness in the fall, prayer meeting at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church was discontinued for a time. Last Wednesday, April 2, at 7 p.m., the first service was held with just six members present. Come on, folks, don't you ever feel the need to join other Christians in God's house for prayer service? We have a long sick list and after prayer for them, Rev. Martin has a short Bible study. Please come join us.

• James and I also join our good friends, Rev. and Mrs. Wade Palmer, and members of Raytown Baptist Church and others on Thursday nights for prayer and Bible study there. They have a good attendance every week and we enjoy being with them. They also have coffee and other refreshments and lots of fun, laughs, and good fellowship. Raytown Baptist Church is really growing.

• Mrs. Juanita Bradford and her family really enjoy going to visit Jockey Lots. She, Trudy, and Brad went to Anderson, S.C., Saturday to the Jockey Lot there and on Sunday they went to one in Augusta. They also had lunch at Ryan's both days. She and Trudy spent the day Friday in Evans.

• Iris Dyson visited Samille and James Sherrer Friday afternoon.

• James Lance and Keeley Sarringer had lunch with Mr. and Mrs. Willard Lance Saturday.

• Mrs. Bill Scoggins and Hannah of Augusta spent Sunday with Mrs. Evans Davis.

• We are so thankful for the good rain Friday and Saturday. The thunderstorms were scary but I haven't heard of any bad damage anywhere in Wilkes County.

• James and I were invited to breakfast in Bowman at the Berryman House Saturday morning at 8:30, so we had to leave early and traveled most of the way in heavy rain. Bud Spinks of Carlton was the host, honoring his wife, Valarie, on her birthday. Over 30 friends and relatives, mostly from Carlton, came to help her celebrate. We had a delicious breakfast and a great time. We returned home in heavy rain.

• "May the beauty of the Lord be upon us and establish the work of our hands." Psalm 90:17.
