Toombs House Performers celebrate Southern culture
Dressed in period costumes, Robert Toombs House Performers Maryellen Murphy and Ansley Newsome represent members of the families who lived in the historic home - the Abbott, Webster, Quigley, Harris, Toombs and Colley families -- as Spring Tour of Homes visitors like Jessica Murphy (at left) toured each room. Curator Marcia Campbell said nearly 200 visitors attended "A Celebration of Southern Culture" at the Robert Toombs House State Historic Site through the day Saturday.
