Lindsey Hitchcock, Cary Callaway honored at barbecue and shower

Engaged couple Lindsey Hitchcock and Cary Callaway were entertained at a barbecue and combination lawn and garden and stock the bar shower Saturday evening, April 5, at the VFW in Washington. Hosts were Chuck and Julie Berry, Rick and Sheila Callaway, Ryan and Christen Hite, Jeff and Julie Driggers, Ray and Jackie Price, David Callaway, Cindy Wilkinson, Tim and Alice Hardin, Tim and Kelly Harris, Will and Samantha Callaway, Josh Callaway, Jason Callaway and Matt Morton, all of Washington- Wilkes.

Casual attire was the dress for the evening.

Due to inclement weather, the festivities were moved from the Berry home to the VFW where ferns, candles and arrangements of pink and white dogwood blossoms were used in decorating.

Guests enjoyed barbecue, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, bread and dessert.

Seventy-eight guests were invited. Among the special guests attending were the prospective bridegroom's parents, Ricky and Penny Callaway.
