April Smith guest of honor at bridal shower, brunch April 5 May bride-elect April Smith was guest of honor at a bridal shower and brunch Saturday, April 5, at the home of Kim Rogers on Newtown Road. Co-hostess with Mrs. Rogers was Terrie Smith, also of Washington. Miss Smith, bride-elect of Jonathan Wheatley, chose for the occasion a black and white linen dress topped with a black cardigan. She was presented a corsage of white daisies. The guest register table held an arrangement of orange and yellow tulips and yellow spider chrysanthemums. The buffet was covered with a rust floor-length cloth complemented with an embroidered silk golden overlay. Centering the table was a matching arrangement of orange and yellow tulips and yellow spider chrysanthemums. From the table guests enjoyed ham biscuits, quiche, assorted fruits, grits, cinnamon rolls, coffee, juice and sweet tea. The hostesses presented the brideelect a cut glass chip and dip serving bowl.
Forty-five guests were invited. Special guests included the brideelect's mother, Tanya Smith; her sister and bridesmaid, Anna Smith; grandmothers, Carolyn Smith and Sara Jackson; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Elaine Wheatley, other attendants, Alicia Clemmons and Jill Rogers, all of Washington. Out-of-town guests included Nita Jones of Statham, Teri Jones and Katrina Jones of Acworth.
