Cornelia Johnson Circle members meet on April 1

The Cornelia Johnson Circle of the First United Methodist Church met in the home of Judy Thompson Tuesday, April 1. Becky Hooton was co-hostess.

Laura Toburen welcomed everyone and led the opening prayer.

She introduced the guest speaker, Glenda Smith of Stonecroft Ministries. Mrs. Thompson continued with the devotional from a collection by Oswald Chambers.

During the business meeting Mrs. Toburen reported on the status of several ongoing projects. The Relay for Life team under the leadership of Kay Bray is organizing and raising money. A recent Sunday lunch under the supervision of Pauline Bell, Linda Smith and Rose Newby generated money for mission projects for the group and the Circle has plans for a coffee stand during the Tour de Georgia on April 23 with proceeds going to mission projects.

Glenda Smith presented an inspiring program to the group.

The hostesses served delicious cheesecake to the following members, Bunny Gunby, Lefreda Adair, Kay Bray, Judy Thompson, Laura Toburen, Linda Smith, Pauline Bell, Susan Branan, Marcia Delany, Gale Seibert, Rachel Arnold, Rose Newby, Vickie Harvey and Randee Barry.
