Sydney McBride celebrates fifth birthday March 17

Sydney McBride, daughter of Mel and Sunshine McBride of Marietta, celebrated her fifth birthday on March 17 and was honored on several occasions.

Sydney was treated to a prebirthday dinner at McCollum Airport's restaurant, Elevation, by her parents, sister, Mackenzie, and brother, Luke, on Thursday, March 13. They enjoyed watching the planes take off and land. Sydney's special gift from her family was the American Doll, Kit.

Sydney celebrated again on Saturday, March 15, with a party at Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta. Sydney wore a pink leotard and tutu given to her by her aunt, Lea Anne McBride. The children enjoyed jumping in the foam pit, tumbling and the trampoline. The party room was decorated with bright pink and green balloons tied to each child's chair. A bright pink cloth covered the party table and pink and green napkins and plates added to the festive decorations.

Sydney and her guests enjoyed her chocolate with cream cheese icing cake decorated with flowers, a butterfly and bee.

Each child received a party favor bag will with a dance CD, animal jump rope, and snack mix.

Forty-five guests attended and included grandparents, Pembroke and Sandra Pope of Washington and Melvin and Dianne McBride of Lyons; maternal great-grandmother, Catherine Flocker of Washington; great-aunt, Cheryl Flocker of Atlanta; uncle, aunt and cousins, Pembroke and Chrissie Pope, Jackson and Katie, of Canton; and friends, Dee and Lisa Bentley, Brynnlee and Tucker, of Lincolnton.

On her birthday Sydney celebrated with her classmates. They enjoyed her maternal great-grandmother, Gam's, famous chocolate cake with goldfish.

Sydney, her parents and brother, Luke, also celebrated with a birthday dinner at O'Charley's.

Sydney was delighted to receive a special birthday call on her birthday from her maternal grandmother, Faye Flocker of Lavonia.
