Rev. Rob Cohen of Appling, former pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, was guest preacher Sunday. With him were his wife and three of their fivechildren. Two of his small children sang for us as their father accompanied them on his guitar. We enjoyed the message taken from Psalms. Jimmy Demastes placed a beautiful, colorful, spring flower arrangement in the church after which he gave them to Mrs. Hal Shank, one of our homebound. Dr. and Mrs. Dupree were out of the state visiting their son and his family in North Carolina. ƒAlex Dunaway visited Billy Dunnaway, Mrs. Louise Burt, and Linda Standard last week. ƒPeyton Standard of Lexington, S.C., spent the weekend with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Standard. ƒRussell Goldman of Doraville spent Sunday with his mother, Mrs. Sarah Huff. He and Sarah enjoyed dinner with the Keith Standards and Peyton. ƒI visited Linda Standard briefly Saturday evening. I also visited my parents several times last week -- the Henry Wallaces in Lincoln County. Garnett Wallace and Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. Goff of McCormick, S.C., also visited. I also visited Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Reed in Lincoln County Sunday. ƒMr. and Mrs. James Casey of Cedartown visited Mr. and Mrs. Jack Newsome, Mr. and Mrs. G.B. Newsome Jr., Mrs. Jenelle Newsome and Mrs. Beechie Sherrer last week. ƒOn Saturday I attended the funeral of Mrs. Doris Edmunds Wells at New Hope Baptist Church and I visited the family of James Scott at Rees Funeral Home Saturday afternoon. ƒHappy birthday to all who are celebrating a birthday this week. Dennis Burt celebrates on April 20. Happy anniversary to all who are celebrating an anniversary this week. ƒRandy Goldman of Lincoln County carried his mother, Sarah Huff, his daughter, Cassie Goldman, and Bryson, Mitch Taylor, Connie and Misty Johnson to Thomson to eat out Friday night. ƒ Our prayer concerns include Chris Charping, Dot Shank, Lois South, Ethel B.
