Laura Baldwin honored at miscellaneous bridal shower

Laura Baldwin of Augusta was honored at a miscellaneous bridal shower on Saturday, April 19, at the home of Mark and Emilie Waters on East Robert Toombs Avenue given by Mrs. Waters, Patricia Burton and Lynn Simmons of Washington.

Miss Baldwin, bride-elect of Wes Seabolt of Augusta, was lovely in a strapless brocade summer dress complemented by a corsage of yellow sweetheart roses.

A summer arrangement adorned the front door of the home and inside spring flowers were used throughout in decorating.

The bride-elect was presented a bride's book by her hostesses. This was placed on a table in the entrance hall for guests to register. Also on the table, adorned with a Chantilly lace runner, were bride and bridegroom figurines and a rose bouquet.

Guests greeted the bride-elect in the front parlor.

In the dining room the table was overlaid with a white Army-Navy cloth and centered with a beautiful arrangement of yellow roses and gerber daisies and deep pink orchids. From the table guests enjoyed cake squares, decorated in different motifs of doves, roses or bows, with a delicious assortment of party foods. Fruit punch was served from another table. Another focal point in the dining room was the chocolate fountain and crystal tiers of fresh fruits. A white linen cloth covered this table.

Gifts were displayed in the sunroom where the table featured a blue linen cloth and a bouquet of blue hydrangeas and berries.

Eighty-eight guests were invited. Among the special guests attending were the bride-elect's mother, Joann Baldwin of Washington; her grandmothers, Anne Charping, also of Washington, and Annette Baldwin of Marietta; aunt, Karen Boyer of Ellijay; and out-of-town friend, Paula Stewart of Crawfordville.
