Fannie Anderson Jackson

Funeral services for Fannie Anderson Jackson, 93, were held Saturday, April 26, 2008, at Jackson Chapel AME Church, Washington, with Rev. James L. Lawson officiating. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant AME Church cemetery. She died Monday, April 21, at Heritage Health Care.

Mrs. Jackson was a native of Wilkes County and the daughter of the late Mattie Asbury and John Anderson. She joined the Mt. Pleasant AME Church where she was a faithful worker, serving as an usher, stewardess, secretary, and treasurer for many years. She continued her membership at Jackson AME Church where she served on the Mother Board and was the oldest member of the church.

Survivors include six children, Mary Williams, Agnes Hurley, and James Jackson of Washington, Aubrey Smith, Tacoma, Washington, Fred Jackson of Hopkinsville, Ky., and David Lee Jackson of Atlanta; 17 grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren.

Pallbearers included Alfonzia Booker Jr., Edward Chenault, Nathaniel Cullars, Eddie Finnell Jr., Quentin Jackson, and Dwayne Smith.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary Inc. of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
