Tonya Howard Clark to marry David Ray Guthrie on May 17 Eddie and Ramona Howard of Rayle announce the engagement of their daughter, Tonya Howard Clark, to David Ray Guthrie of Thomson, formerly of Haleyville, Ala., son of Marlon R. Guthrie and Cindy Guthrie of Thomson and Frankie Lawrence and the late Hollis Lawrence of Haleyville, Ala. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Walter (Bo) Standridge, the late Martha Foster Standridge of Washington and the late Leonard R. Kent of Tallassee, Ala., and the late George and Ina Mae Howard of the Aonia community. She is a graduate of the EMT Training at Augusta Tech, of Modular One Basic Firefighter at the Fire Academy at Forsyth, and is employed by Warren County EMS as an EMT Firefighter. Mr. Guthrie is the grandson of Irene Akers and the late Earnest Burrell of Haleyville, Ala., and Leona Pratt and the late Edward Guthrie of Lynn, Ala. He is a graduate of Lynn High School in Lynn, Ala. And a 2006 graduate of Augusta State University in Augusta where he earned a Bachelor in Business Administration degree. Mr. Guthrie is a Modular One Firefighterand is currently in EMT Training. He is employed by Guthrie Grading and Hauling in Thomson and a volunteer firefighterin Warren County.
The wedding is planned for Saturday, May 17, at 6 p.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Washington.
