Miss Newsome was lovely in a princess-styled dress in black with all-over tiny white squares. The bodice was shirred in center front and caught with a spaghetti strap that extended from the center front and tied in back. She was presented a wrist corsage of deep pink sweetheart roses.

The front door of the home was graced with a heart-shaped grapevine wreath adorned with white hydrangeas, ribbons and pearls.

Inside, the sofa table held the bride's keepsake scrapbook for guests to sign.

They were welcomed and guided to the spacious den to greet the bride-elect and her family.

The dining room table, covered in pink and overlaid in a white Army- Navy cloth, held a tall central arrangement of deep pink-tipped ivory roses, white peonies, cream Alstro- emeria lilies, white snapdragons, pink carnations, leatherleaf fern, eucalyptus and pink boronia. From the table guests enjoyed fresh coconut cake, Red Velvet cake, chocolate cake and caramel cake with cheese straws, toasted pecans, and fruit punch from the silver punch bowl centered with an ice ring of fresh fruits. Other silver and crystal appointments were used in serving.

It was displayed with other gifts on tables covered in white. One table featured a white-washed tin of the same flowers as on the dining table while another was centered with an oversized champagne glass of clear glass rocks and swirls of pale pink ribbon.

Miss Newsome presented her hostesses personalized embossed notecards.
