Nurse tell of Health Dept. services

Jennifer Jackson, County Nurse Manager for the Wilkes County Health Department (left), was the guest speaker at the Washington Kiwanis Club meeting on Tuesday, April 29. Jackson discussed the various programs and described services provided by the Health Department. She told members that the department provides shots, conducts fluclinics and family planning services, offers TB, HIV, and STD screening and treatments, provides child health physicals, and attends to special needs for children. The Wilkes County Health Department is located across from Wills Memorial Hospital, 112 Hospital Drive. Hours of operation are Mon., Wed., and Thu. 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m; Tue. 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Fri. 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Dr Jim Finch was the program host for the day.
