Long to play for Aiken Tech
Scottie Long, a standout on the basketball court for the Washington-Wilkes Tigers for the past few seasons, has been awarded a scholarship to continue his athletic career at Aiken Technical College. The officialsigning was held in the media center at W-WCHA last Wednesday, April 23. Long is the son of Scottie Long Sr. and Alfreda Norman. Pictured above are (seated) Long and his mother, along with (standing, l-r) Assistant Principal Mark Ward, Willie C. Norman (grandfather), Head Basketball Coach Don Keiser, and Emma Norman (grandmother). Long was a two-year starter for the Tigers who averaged eight points and eight rebounds per game for his high school career.
