4-H BB shooters compete in district match As the high overall shooter for Wilkes County and with a first place finish in the standing position, Michael Pharr led the Smoking Guns to a third place finish in the district 4-H shooting match held in Monroe on April 19. The Wilkes County 4-H S.A.F.E. BB team shooters were divided into two 7-man teams and there were also four individual shooters. The Smoking Guns are Blake Connell, Dylan Echols, Daniel Hackney, Jacob Hubbard, Joshua McLeroy, Catie Miller, and Michael Pharr. The Outlaws are Kasey Gowen, Rebekah Hubbard, Brendan Johnson, Clay Johnson, Cody McLeroy, Chandler Pharr, and Trent Wilson. Hannah Davis, Cody Gowen, Liam Smith, and Sharkeia Wright participated as individual shooters. Everyone qualified to go to the State Tournament either as part of a team or as an individual. The Smoking Guns earned their third place with an overall score of 1814. The Outlaws placed 19th with an overall score of 1600. Everyone placed in each position at the tournament. The following are some of the top shooters from Wilkes County, although all placings were not reported. In the prone position, Jacob Hubbard placed fourth, Catie Miller and Sharkeia Wright placed fifth, Dylan Echols and Michael Pharr placed sixth, and Daniel Hackney placed seventh. In the standing position, Michael Pharr placed first, Sharkeia Wright placed fourth, Joshua McLeroy placed ninth, Dylan Echols, Jacob Hubbard and Catie Miller placed tenth, and Clay Johnson placed eleventh. In the sitting position, Michael Pharr placed second, Dylan Echols and Jacob Hubbard placed third, and Josh McLeroy placed fifth. In the kneeling position, Daniel Hackney placed fifth, Dylan Echols, Jacob Hubbard placed sixth, and Joshua McLeroy and Catie Miller placed eighth.
High overall shooters were Michael Pharr in fifth place, Dylan Echols and Jacob Hubbard in ninth place, Joshua McLeroy in twelfth place, Daniel Hackney in 16th place, Sharkeia Wright in 18th place and Catie Miller in 19th place.
