DDA sets Open House Tuesday, May 20 at Chamber

In an effort to document the opinions of downtown shoppers, business owners, visitors, and Washington Wilkes residents, Washington's Downtown Development Agency is holding an Open House May 20.

The drop-in Open House, set at the Washington-Wilkes Chamber of Commerce officeon Tuesday, May 20, from 4-6 p.m., will survey opinions to help the DDA with long-range planning and project development.

Mary Alice Applegate from the officeof Downtown Development with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, will also be present for the meeting.

The survey will ask opinions of the appearance of downtown, whether shopping downtown meets needs, and what type of product or services are needed downtown.

The survey also asks about what the city can do to improve, and asks respondents what they see as the city's greatest challenges and greatest opportunities.
