Club learns about butterflies
 | | Karen Stubbs, president of the Iris Garden Club of Washington (right), was the guest speaker for the Washington Kiwanis Club on Tuesday, May 6. Stubbs presented a program on butterflies in which she used a very colorful PowerPoint presentation of pictures. She explained the butterfly's habitat and showed several examples of butterflies native to Georgia - pictures she had taken herself. She explained and showed examples of the four stages of a butterfly's life cycle - egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and adult. Stubbs told members that while the insect is beautiful, it is also beneficialin that it serves as a pollinator. Herb Stackhouse was the program host for the day. |
