4-H'ers recognized for achievement at annual banquet held at W-WCHS
Using as a theme, "4-H Luau," officersof the 4-H County Council and board members presided during the presentation of awards, entertainment, and special recognition of accomplishments during the past year. Brittany Klaus and Amanda Wood welcomed parents, grandparents, friends, and 4-H Club members to the banquet before awards were presented. Dalphne Albertson received the Friend of 4-H Award for her outstanding support of the 4-H program as a volunteer. Top awards during the evening went to the following members: Marisa and Marlyse Sifre received the Outstanding Cloverleaf Award; and Joshua McLeroy received Outstanding Junior Award. Michael Edwards received the Gold Clover Award and Brittany Klaus received the Georgia Key Award.
Outstanding members were recognized in the following categories: Beef Project - Jackson Armour Dairy Project - Cloverleaf, Megan Thackston; Junior, Lauren Chafin;Senior, Morgen Swann. High Scorer at Dairy Judging - Junior Team: Angela Broome. High Scorer at State Horse Judging - Junior Team: Holley Burke, Senior Team: Karlie Fiest. High Scorer at Area Cotton Boll/ Consumer Jamboree - Junior Team: Jonathan Wood, Senior Team: Dixie Lee Trimm. High Scoring Individual at District BB Match - Michael Pharr. High Scoring Individual at State BB Match - Jacob Hubbard. 4-H State Congress - Christina Albertson and Michael Edwards. County Council members recognized were Brittany Klaus, Amanda Wood, Michael Edwards, Ty Owens, Joshua McLeroy, Tabatha Welch, Katie Trimm, Jonathan Wood, Dixie Lee Trimm, Christina Albertson, Mariah Crew, Emily McNure and John Pope. Background piano music for the banquet was provided by Christina Albertson, John Pope, and Ashlyn Holley. Vocal selections were presented by Brittany Klaus, Michael Edwards, Emily McNure, Katie Trimm, and Leslie Souther. Appreciation was expressed to the Wilkes County Extension Staff: Rick Smith, County Extension Coordinator; Audra Chapman, County 4-H Extension Agent; Jackie Crew, County 4-H Program Assistant; and Carol L. Jackson, County Extension Secretary. |
