Farm Safety Camp set Thurs.,May 29 at local ag center

The annual Farm Safety Camp sponsored by the Wilkes-Lincoln Farm Safety Committee will be held Thursday, May 29, at the McGill- Woodruff Ag Center in Washington beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m.

The camp is open to children ages 6-11 at a cost of $5.00 per child.

Registration forms are available at the Wilkes County Extension officeand the Lincoln County Extension office.Deadline for registration is May 16.

All children must pre-register to receive a t-shirt and other giveaways. Lunch and two snacks will be provided.

Classes to be taught include firesafety, ATV and farm equipment safety, electrical safety, farm animal safety, gun and water safety, reptiles, sun safety, and much more.

Farm Safety Camp is coordinated and sponsored by Ag Georgia Farm Credit, ACA, Rayle EMC, Washington Fire Department, Wilkes County Cattlemen's Association, Wilkes County EMS, Wilkes County Extension, Wilkes County Farm Bureau, Wilkes County Young Farmers, Wilkes Lincoln Farm Service Agency, Wills Memorial Hospital, Lincoln County Extension, Lincoln County Farm Bureau, and the generosity of many other local businesses and organizations.
