Several people from our community attended dinner at the Third Shiloh Building in Washington Thursday evening honoring cancer survivors and their caregivers. Peggy Echols, Jason Echols, J.W. and Bonnie Boatwright, Catherine Callaway, Mildred Sisson, Ann Williamson, Sudie Kennedy, Arnold and Dorla Adams enjoyed the wonderful meal which was a low country boil furnished and cooked by Joe Barnett and a variety of delicious desserts by the committee. Everyone enjoyed the meal which was served by the committee to cancer survivors and their guests seated at beautifully decorated tables. All survivors were given T-shirts, a tote bag, and a pin, and their caregivers were also given a pin. ƒRuth Flynt is still a bit under the weather and has had as visitors, Ann Wideman, Bonnie Boatwright, Gloria Hardy, Tony Taylor, and Jane Bailey. ƒ J.W. and Bonnie Boatwright enjoyed the barbecue Saturday at the Buckman Barn in Philomath. Billy and Doris Walker joined J.W. and Bonnie and they enjoyed being together. It was good to see many people from Oglethorpe and Wilkes counties. It was especially good to see Calvin and Betty Whittington of Colbert and Josephine Orr of Whispering Pines in Athens and Kate Orr Messer of Roswell. It was also good to see Lily McFarland and Carolyn Paradise who live in Stephens where I am from and knew them all during my childhood days. We saw many people whom we knew and were glad to see. ƒJoyce Blackburn, Marian Poss, Gail Gilbreath, and Frances Ogletree went to the Pizza Hut Tuesday for a great meal and a time of togetherness. ƒ J.W. Boatwright took Bonnie to her cancer doctor in Athens Thursday and a PET scan has been scheduled for Thursday at Regional Medical Center. ƒGail Gilbreath took Ronnie McAvoy, Bernice McAvoy, and Marian Poss to Union Point to the Greene- Point Nursing Home Sunday where they visited Frances Nash and Maude Griffith.While there they were glad to see Lawrence and Alice Griffith.They enjoyed hearing Lawrence sing and preach while there. ƒ Marshall Sherrer had cataract surgery at the outpatient center of Regional Medical Center Monday morning. ƒFaye Johnson of Gray has spent a few days with Ruby Arnold. They have visited Nell Hubbard who had knee replacement surgery in the McDuffie County Hospital last week. They also have visited Dorothy Callaway and Sallie Mae Arnold. ƒAvery Hall accompanied Clyde and Sandy Whittington to Crawford Saturday morning to watch Zachery Frankel play in a T-Ball game. ƒLindley Hall, Josh Callaway, and Avery Hall visited Neil and Kim Frankel, Zachery, Kyle and Bryce Sunday afternoon after church at Sardis. ƒ Garrett Paul and Ricky Shedd came for a visit with Johnny and Kathryn Shedd Sunday. ƒ Clyde and Sandy Whittington, Neil and Kim Frankel, Zachery, Kyle, and Bryce had a fantastic trip to the Atlanta Zoo Saturday. They were real excited about seeing all the animals and enjoyed it very much. ƒPeggy Echols went to her doctor's appointment one day and Margaret Connor of Washington accompanied her and after the doctor they gallavanted a bit in Athens. ƒ Kim Berry and Aaliya visited Brooke Berry and Bryson Sunday evening while Kaitlyn was at Grandpa Lamar and Grandma Kay's and Trey's house. ƒRichard Burkett, Joan Perez, and Frances Fendley visited Peggy Shockley Sunday afternoon. ƒBuck and Linda Echols' company Sunday were Scott and Sissy Smith and Richard and Lou Heard, Mattie and Hank. ƒAnn Wideman visited Gene and Betty Winfrey, Ruth Flynt, and Bonnie Boatwright. ƒA cookout at the home of David Wideman Saturday was enjoyed by George and Ann Wideman, James Wideman, Watson and Mathew. ƒThe prayer list continues for Madison Armour, Lee Parker, Ruth Flynt, Frank Turner Jr., Karan Newsome's sister, Donna, Jenelle Newsome, Manuel Wheatley, Joyce Bowen, Nell Hubbard, Dorothy Callaway, Sallie Mae Arnold, Susie Brenizer, Lamar Berry, Arnold Adams, Ed Crook, Gary Rogers, Wyman Roth, Pete Poss, Pete Hardy, Roberta Roper, Tom Bufford, Sidney Kelley, Sonny Chafin, Chris Sims, Franky Shank, Connie Pete, Linda Stevens, Cindy McCarty, Willie Welborn, Jimmy Compton, Nancy Moon, Frances Vinson, Tillie Bufford, Herman and Maude Mauldin, Chris Charping, Thelma Favor, P.J.
