Lundberg News The National Day of Prayer event on The Square in Washington Thursday was a great and well-organized program. Rev. Gale Seibert gave the welcome and opening prayer and Rev. Andy Perryman sang "America the Beautiful" and led in singing "Amazing Grace" and "God Bless America." Divesia Lee, a high school student, gave a good talk on prayer. Several others, including Willard Lance, said prayers for local, state, and government organizations. ƒAfter foot surgery, Pam McCarty is confinedto home for a while. We hope she will recover soon. Her sister, Gail Hammock of Warwick, spent several days with her. Visiting her Saturday afternoon were Angie Strother and Joyce Hardy. ƒMr. and Mrs. David Lindsey of Fort Worth, Texas, and Dr. Frances Cooper of Oakland, Calif., arrived Friday to spend a week with Mrs. Iris Dyson. ƒVisiting Iris Dyson Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hopkins, Charlie Hopkins, and Harrison Turner of Elberton. They carried her out for lunch. ƒ Mr. and Mrs. Scott Blaine of Dahlonega spent the weekend at their home here. Sue Davis was their guest for supper Saturday night. ƒMrs. Bill Scoggins, Hannah, Dylan, and his friend, April Adams, of Augusta spent Sunday with Sue Davis. Visiting her during the week were Lois Poss and Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Stevens and granddaughter Leah. ƒMrs. Juanita Bradford, Mr. and Mrs. John Sutherland and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Bradford of Thomson were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Bradford in Washington Wednesday evening. ƒ Samille and James Sherrer attended the 18th Spring Inspirational Meeting of the Georgia Baptist Association held at the Danburg Baptist Church Tuesday evening. ƒSincere sympathy is extended to the family of Clyde Sales of Raytown who passed away Thursday. Many friends and family members attended visitation at Hopkins Funeral Home Friday night and graveside services at Raytown Methodist Church Saturday evening. ƒ The best and most beautiful things of this world can't be seen or touched. They must be felt by the heart. |
