Gresham-Saggus WOM members gather on May 1

Helen Miller presented the program at the meeting of the Rhetta Gresham-Terry Bennett Saggus Women on Mission Thursday, May 1, in the Jesse Mercer Chapel of the First Baptist Church.

"A Great Woman" was the title of the program taken from "Mosaic." The great faith of the featured woman helped her to know and say that everything was all right even though her world was crumbling around her. Mrs. Miller was assisted by Catherine Thurmond, June Chafin and Mabel Johnson.

Prior to the program Gladys Reese, facilitator, presided. She welcomed members and opened in prayer. Mrs. Reese also led the WMU Watchword, Colossians 1:10.

During the business meeting reports were given by Mrs. Johnson, secretary, and Mrs. Chafin,treasurer. Members voted to make a donation to the upcoming Romanian mission trip.

A report was given on the On Mission Celebration Missions Fair.

Following the program Mrs. Reese read the missionary prayer calendar and Mrs. Johnson closed with prayer for the missionaries with birthdays on May 1 and for those with special needs in the community.

Present were Mabel Johnson, June Sherrer, Helen Miller, Catherine Thurmond and Gladys Reese.
