Laura Baldwin guest of honor at miscellaneous shower Apr. 26

Laura Baldwin of Augusta was honored at a miscellaneous bridal shower on Saturday, April 26, at the Timbermen Farmhouse in Warrenton given by Dr. Julie Hicks and daughter, Perry Hicks, of Thomson.

Miss Baldwin, bride-elect of Wesley Seabolt of Augusta, was lovely in a silk charmeuse black and white tunnel neck dress.

Balloons at the top of the driveway and along the fence line marked the location of the party. The farmhouse was situated in a pecan orchard that was nestled deep in the woods and opened up into beautiful pastureland and rolling hills.

The hostesses invited guests into the dining room where the table was centered with a beautiful crystal vase of peach roses with Grancy Graybeard and willow sprigs arranged by Mrs. Julia Hicks of Thomson. The focal point of the dining room was a masterpiece of a cake layered with fresh strawberries and whipping cream bordered by pirouline cookies and tied with a red bow. Fresh strawberries and blueberries adorned the top of the cake, made by Dr. Hick's sister, Ann Marie Dickey of Boiling Springs, S.C.

Other party foods enjoyed were Italian Créme Cake, cheese straws, open-face cucumber sandwiches, ham and cheese pinwheels, wedding cookies, peanut butter cups, lemon squares, toasted pecans, Texas Hash with Frito Scoops and punch.

Thirty-two guests were invited. Special guests attending included the bride-elect's mother, Joann Baldwin of Washington; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Linda Seabolt of Blairsville; his sister, Heather Seabolt of Andrews, N.C.; aunt, Wanda Sparks of Powder Springs; and Amanda Kennedy of Cleveland.

The prospective bridegroom made an appearance at the end of the party to open gifts from his family and friends for his workshop.
