Angie Paul honored at bridal luncheon held at Nelms home Hummingbird Hill, home of Richard and Kay Nelms in Logan Woods, was the scene of a bridal luncheon honoring Angie Shedd Paul of Lexington on Saturday, May 3. Co-hostesses with Mrs. Nelms were Debbie Lindsey, Dean Mansfield and Sheila Callaway. Mrs. Paul, bride-elect of Chad Williams of Lexington, wore a pink patterned top and navy capris. The front door of the home featured a bridal head encircled with white tulle, ribbon and pearls. To the left of the door was a rosemary topiary also swirled in white tulle. A flowing hummingbird fountain was to the right. Inside, guests were welcomed by the hostesses and greeted the brideelect. White cloths covered all the tables. The main dining table was centered with an etched glass vase of white peonies, snowballs, Lenten roses and greenery while each smaller table featured a silver chalice engraved with an "A" and filled with white peonies, pink carnations and greenery. Each table also featured a sprinkling of pink hearts and iridescent doves. Guests enjoyed a luncheon of chicken salad on lettuce with strawberries and pineapple, mini-croissants, copper pennies, cheese straws, peach and sweet tea. Strawberry Trifle was served for dessert. Gifts were presented to Mrs. Paul after the luncheon course.
Joining the bride-elect and her hostesses were her mother, Kathryn Shedd of Rayle; her daughter, Cody Paul, and granddaughter, Ashtyn Allen, of Carlton; her sister, Gail Stewart of Rayle; the prospective bridegroom's mother, Patricia Williams of Lexington; also Jeannie Bruce and Jennifer, Tara Townsend, Tammy Echols, Teresa Bishop and Louise McClearen.
