Angie Paul entertained at bridal shower on April 26 Angie Paul of Lexington, brideelect of Chad Williams, also of Lexington, was entertained at a drop-in bridal shower Saturday, April 26, at the home of Gail Stewart on Walker Road in Rayle. Joining Mrs. Stewart in entertaining were nieces of the bride-elect, Hannah Wright of Rayle and Alyssa Stewart of Augusta. For the occasion the bride-elect chose a lavender silk blouse and matching floral skirt. She was presented a corsage of mixed spring flowers. A hen party theme was used in the decorations with beautiful assorted hen napkins. The dining room table, covered in blue and overlaid with a cutwork Battenburg cloth, was centered with a tall crystal vase filled with cobalt blue and lavender ragged robins, white carnations, daisies and mixed greenery with a cobalt blue organza bow. Served from the buffet table on tiered black wrought iron servers were Lemon Meringue Pie, Pecan Pie, Coconut Pie and Buttermilk Custard Pie with toasted pecans, pineapple cheese ball with assorted crackers, L'il Smokies, cream puffs filled with chocolate mousse, open-faced tomato and cucumber sandwiches. Guests also enjoyed sweet tea and fresh lemonade. The hostesses presented the brideelect a gold framed farm scene of a rooster and hen, a matching set of kitchen towels, dishcloths and rug in the same pattern. It was displayed with other gifts on tables covered in white and decorated with another crystal vase of flowers matching those on the dining table. A whitewashed church birdhouse was also on the gift table.
Thirty-fiveguests were invited. Special guests attending included the bride-elect's daughter, Cody Paul, and granddaughter, Ashtyn Allen of Carlton; her mother, Kathryn Shedd of Rayle, and the prospective bridegroom's mother, Patricia Williams of Lexington.
