Basketball alumni game slated May 31 to put Tigers on Tigers

Andrew Jackson, a lifetime Tiger on and off the court, showed he still had it at the last alumni game played in 2006.
It has been two years but it's time to be reminded again.

What to these names bring to mind? Tyrekus "A.J." Bowman, Franchot Brown, Lazarus Chennault, Jamaal Binns, Andrew Jackson, and Denorio Quinn.

If you still don't know, add Chris Graves, Lucious Stewart, and Scotty Long to the list you you'll know that it's a roster of some of the great Washington-Wilkes basketball players from this year and years past. Wouldn't it be great to see them on the court shooting hoops just one more time?

That's gonna happen on Memorial Day weekend.

On Saturday, May 31, all those guys and maybe more will team up and coach themselves as they challenge the 2008-2009 Tigers in the second-ever Washington-Wilkes Alumni Basketball Game.

Tiger head basketball coach Don Keiser has announced that the game will be played at the W-WES gym beginning at 7 p.m. and he will be coaching his own Tigers while the alumni are on their own.

Admission to the game will be $5.00 and concessions will be available.

Concernig his team's goals for the game, Keiser said, "It's all about the money. We might get killed but that won't matter because for this game, it's all about the money."

Funds raised will be used to support the Washington-Wilkes basketball program.
