Author of Confusion
The devil takes God's good things and makes bad out of them. Then God takes the devil's bad and makes some good come out of it -- a blessing in disguise you might say. The devil works not only through bad folks but also through church folks and even well-meaning folks if they let him. In humor it was said that the devil went to church and all scattered except one old gentleman and the devil asked, "Boy, ain't you scared of me?" And he replied, "No, because I've been married to your sister for 50 years now" Anyway, God can also use bad folks sometimes to accomplish His will. They may not realize it until they have already done it. Confusion! Some folks love it and thrive on it. One old fellow was always finding fault and creating confusion in the church. He was always against everything. One time they wanted to buy a chandelier for the church and he said he was against it. He said, "First off, we can't afford it and the second thing is that no one can play it!" Some want the loud speaker (P.A.) in the church cracking eardrums and some want it nearly off. Some want the air conditioner so cold that the old folks have to wear their Eskimo suits to church and they are still chilled to the bone. Confusion! Some want to throw the hymn books out and sing only contemporary. Confusion! One fellow asked me if I sing Christian Rock and I said, "Yes, of course!" Then I did a stanza of "Rock of Ages, Cleft for Me." Confusion! Some want to throw out the King James Bible and when you have 15 different versions in the church and the preacher begins to read it, it is utter confusion. One fellow was reading from one version and I asked my wife if he was reading the Bible or the Reader's Digest. Confusion!
The devil loves it. Can you say amen?
