Here's where to go to shop in Washington
Downtown merchants, working with the Downtown Development Authority, the Washington-Wilkes Chamber of Commerce, and the City of Washington, now have new directional signs showing shoppers where to find stores, restaurants, and other attractions downtown. "Visitors won't know where they can go to spend their money unless we show them," Chamber Director Ashley Barnett said. "These signs will show people that we have a lot of places to shop." City workers will mount the signs on posts in the flower bed areas at the head of The Square facing Robert Toombs Avenue.
