Christin Leann Brown marries Shane Leonard Lamar July 19

Mr. and Mrs. Shane Leonard Lamar
Christin Leann Brown of Washington became the bride of Shane Leonard Lamar, also of Washington, in an outdoor ceremony Saturday, July 19, at six o'clock in the evening in the field at the game room of the bride's uncle and aunt, Charles and Melissa Wood, on Highway 80 in Washington. The bride's grandfather, Pastor Terry Casper of Tignall, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Charity Casper of Oglethorpe County and Shane Brown of Monroe.

The bridegroom is the son of Brenda Cartledge of Thomson and the late Len Lamar.

The couple exchanged vows in the open field before a white arch accented with red, white and blue flowers and greenery. Hay bales draped in Confederate flags provided seating for guests. Other Confederate flags were used in decorating and the entrance displayed the sign, "My Red-Neck Wedding."

Pre-recorded music was used for the ceremony.

Larry Lamar of Washington, cousin of the bridegroom, served as best man.

Brittany Brown of Washington was her sister's honor attendant. She wore a blue summer dress with cowboy boots and carried a bouquet of red, white and blue flowers dotted with butterflies.

The bride arrived on a four-wheeler with her father. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was lovely in her full-length white dress styled with a spaghetti-strap halter bodice. Cowgirl boots added to her attire.

A tiara adorned her hair and she carried a cascade of red, white and blue flowers tied with matching ribbons.

Of special sentiment was the pendant and bracelet she wore that belonged to her great-grandmother, the late Geraldine Plunkett.

The bride's mother chose a pink and brown summer dress.

The bridegroom's mother wore a white summer dress.

The bride's grandmother, Cathy Casper of Tignall, chose a two-piece red ensemble and her grandmother, Patricia Skinner of Monroe, wore a floral summer dress and jean jacket.

Reception

The bride's mother, and grandmother, Mrs. Skinner, were hosts at a reception in the pasture by the pond following the ceremony.

A buffet of heavy hors d'oeuvres was served from the game room. Also in the game room were the bride's double-stacked-layered cake decorated in red, white and blue and the bridegroom's Red Velvet cake topped with a Copenhagen can and monster truck.

Guests enjoyed the afternoon outside riding four-wheelers and knee boarding as well as the game room festivities.

The couple left in their wedding attire and are making their home in Rayle.
