Ginger Nicole Harrison, William Brian Dawson exchange wedding vows Saturday, September 27

Mr. and Mrs. William Brian Dawson
Ginger Nicole Harrison and William Brian Dawson of Washington were united in marriage in an impressive double-ring ceremony Saturday, September 27, at five o'clock in the afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Washington. Rev. Ken Cavalho of Greensboro officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Brenda Harrison and Jimmy Harrison of Washington.

The bridegroom is the son of Esther Dawson and the late William C. Dawson of Washington.

The church doors held wreaths of greenery, berries and white bows. Inside the vestibule guests signed the register, tended by Tiffani Andrews of Washington, at a table overlaid in white and decorated with red and white Gerber daisies.

Programs were given to guests by Ashlyn and Alyssa Holley and Emily Connell of Washington.

The altar featured three six-foot columns topped with ferns and two spiral gun metal candelabra adorned at each base with mixed greenery. Centering the altar was a sevenbranched gun metal candelabrum extending from an arrangement of red Gerber daisies, white stock and snapdragons and greenery. Nearby was a candle in loving memory of the bridegroom's father and the couple's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Dawson, Mr. and Mrs. Willie C. Nunn and Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Whittington. Greenery and white satin bows marked family seating.

Janet Pharr of Washington, pianist, presented the wedding music and accompanied vocalist, Darren Pharr of Washington.

Myles Dawson of Tignall, nephew of the bridegroom, was best man. Usher-groomsmen were Jack Leard III and Joey Griffin, cousin of the bride, both of Washington, and Mark Thornton of Tignall. Boutonnieres of red Gerber daisies adorned the lapels of their black tuxedoes.

Elizabeth Howlett of Evans was matron of honor and Amanda Woods of Washington served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amber Lamar of Augusta and Karla Dawson of Washington, niece of the bridegroom. They were attired in strapless black floor-length gowns with pick-ups accented with candy apple red sashes. Their bouquets of red Gerber daisies, seeded eucalyptus, and variegated pittosporum were hand-tied with black and red grosgrain ribbon.

Laney Thornton and Whitney Dawson, niece of the bridegroom, both of Tignall, served as flower girls. They wore white Strasburg dresses which fell to ankle-length and halos of gypsophila and white satin ribbon in their hair. They walked down the aisle barefooted as they dropped rose petals from baskets.

Ring bearer, Jackson Thornton of Tignall, wore a white Strasburg suit and carried a pillow adorned with Swarovski crystals.

Given in marriage by her uncle, Joe Griffin of Washington, the bride was radiant in her white organza Aline gown fashioned with a strapless sweetheart neckline. Beaded lace adorned the side draped bodice. The gown was finished with a lace-up back and chapel train.

From her wedding comb extended her elbow-length illusion edged in delicate iridescent silver threading and beading.

She carried a bouquet of red and white Gerber daisies with seeded eucalyptus and lemon leaves accented with rhinestone sprays hand-tied and completed with a monogrammed bouquet ribbon.

For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Harrison chose a bronze silk dress and jacket edged in beadwork on the upper bodice of the sheath dress and on the sleeves and border of the jacket. Her tussie mussie held red Gerber daisies, seeded eucalyptus and red sheer ribbon.

Mrs. Dawson, the bridegroom's mother, wore a royal blue floorlength gown designed with a scoop neckline and beaded scalloped overlay. Her cymbidium orchids were accented with pearl sprays.

Angie Strother of Washington directed the wedding.

Reception

Following the ceremony the bride's mother and family entertained at a reception at the Washington Wilkes Country Club.

The couple arrived at the reception in a chauffeured silver Washington Towne Car.

The clubhouse was beautifully decorated using red, black and white in the color scheme.

The register table, again tended by Mrs. Andrews, was covered with a white cloth. A black runner was highlighted by black and white polka dot bows. Red Gerber daisies, white snapdragons and tulips, seed eucalyptus and wax flower filled the vase placed to one side of the bride's book.

Mantels were accented in black with assorted silver holders with tapers and votives.

Two round tables, covered in white and accented with black and white throw overlays, featured black urns of red Gerbers, white snapdragons and tulips, seed eucalyptus and twinkling lights all reflected on a mirror. Centering these tables was a long table centered with an elaborate tablescape of decoratively-cut and arranged fruits.

Guests dined on barbecued pork tenderloin, chicken strips, hash brown casserole, squash casserole, green beans, pasta salad, rolls, fresh fruits and divinity.

A kid's table featured goldfish crackers, Cheetos, M&M's and Chex Mix.

Savannah Carani of Crawfordville, cousin of the bride, served sweet tea and lemonade.

The bride's table was covered with a white cloth and black overlay accented with a black and white polka dotted ribbon. The threestacked square wedding cake dotted all over in a white-on-white design was topped with a sugar bow and featured the couple's initials. The couple's Waterford toasting goblets were to the side of the cake that was served by Whitney Carani of Crawfordville, cousin of the bride.

The bridegroom's cake, a round cake topped with the Georgia Tech yellow jacket, was placed on a table covered in black and decorated with a Georgia Tech throw as well as other GT memorabilia.

Following the reception the couple left in the Washington Towne Car amid a shower of bubbles.

They are making their home in Washington.

Rehearsal Dinner

Esther Dawson was hostess at a rehearsal dinner at the Woman's Club on North Alexander Avenue following the rehearsal for the Harrison-Dawson wedding.

For the occasion the bride-elect wore a black satin spaghetti strap dress complemented by a white daisy corsage.

Red and white gingham cloths covered the tables decorated with Mason jar candles.

The buffet held a bouquet of daisies. From the buffet guests enjoyed barbecue pork loin, stew, potato salad, coleslaw, bread, and desserts of coconut and strawberry cake.

During the evening the couple presented gifts to their wedding party.

Fifty guests attended.
