Hospital will host diabetes course starting January 22

Wills Memorial Hospital is planning a three-session course covering Diabetes Mellitus.

The public is invited to the three sessions at no charge. The dates are January 22 and 29, and February 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the hospital library.

All diabetic patients and their caregivers who would like to learn more about ways to manage the disease are invited and encouraged to attend. Seating is limited so participants are asked to register in advance by calling 706-678-9296.

All areas of disease management will be covered, including definitions of diabetes; glucose testing; medications; high and low blood sugar; avoidance of long-term problems; food; exercise; foot care suggested medical check-ups; and coping with diabetes.

It is best if participants attend all three sessions of the course.
