By Bonnie Boatwright Call 274-3264

This has been a long week. J.W. got very sick once again and had to go to the emergency room Thursday morning for the second time within a week. He had nausea, vomiting, and dizziness, and I called 911 for an ambulance. The response was quick and efficient and the service we received at Wills Memorial Hospital Emergency Room was as good as we could want. J.W. is much better and improving every day, this Sunday evening as I am writing my news. We appreciate all the concern shown us.

• Bonnie Boatwright joined James and Kathleen Canup and Fran Thaxton in Lexington for a trip to Elberton to play bingo Tuesday. When we got back to James and Kathleen's house she gave Fran and me some of her special delicious German chocolate cake to bring home with us.

• Bonnie Boatwright spent Wednesday in Bogart with her sister, Martha Jones, and they joined their brother, James Smith of Stephens, for lunch at Chili's. We missed James' wife Sharon and Frankie. Sharon was at work and Frankie became ill with a virus that morning. It was a stormy day and the electricity went off at Martha's house while I was there and James said his electricity had gone off during the night for about two hours.

• I promise you I did not leave J.W. at home sick. He got over the first illness before I went on the two trips and then got sick the next day after my goings.

• Mrs. Ruby Arnold was tickled pink as she visited two babies who were born into the family this past week. A baby girl, Callie Elizabeth, was born to Brandon and Erin Berry Monday and a baby boy, Christopher James, was born to Robert and Crystal Brynon of Commerce Friday. Kim Berry, Aaliya Berry, and Ruby visited them at Athens Regional Medical Center. Aaliya went to Commerce Sunday with Ruby Booth and Kristy to help welcome the little Brynon boy home.

• Ruby Arnold, Kim Berry and Aaliya attended a lovely bridal shower for Bridgett Berry Saturday afternoon at the home of Tricia Stone.

• Bonnie Boatwright visited Brooke Berry, Kaitlyn and Bryson Porter Saturday.

• Brooke Berry, Kaitlyn and Bryson Porter attended a surprise birthday party honoring Rosemary Gresham Saturday evening.

• Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Bob Hall. Clyde and Sandy Whittington attended the funeral service Saturday afternoon at Bethesda Baptist Church in Greene County.

• Boyce and Pam Hall, Avery, Martha Hall, and James Bowen attended the funeral service for Bob Hall Saturday afternoon at Bethesda Baptist Church in Greene County.

• George and Mozelle Casey visited Frances Fendley Sunday afternoon. George is scheduled to go to his doctor in Augusta Thursday. He has not been feeling too well.

• Troy Chafin celebrated a birthday Monday, January 12. Tangie Chafin celebrated her birthday Saturday, January 10. Ruby Chafin also celebrated a birthday, Monday, January 12.

• Wilda Boatwright and Sudie Kennedy visited Hazel Webb in Thomson one day during the week.

• Zachery Frankel of Crawford spent Saturday night with his grandparents, Clyde and Sandy Whittington.

• Troy and Shirley Chafin, Ronnie and Racquel Chafin celebrated Troy's birthday by going to the Outback Steak House for supper.

• I don't have any church news because I stayed at home with J.W. the last two Sundays. It will be another long week because of me not going.

• Please remember Douglas Mathews, Joann Slaton, J.W. Boatwright and Sherry Newsome in prayer. Sherry had knee surgery. There are many others who need prayer and we remember them also.

• My cousin, James Canup of Lexington, is facing surgery Thursday, January 15, at Athens Regional Medical Center so please remember him and Kathleen in prayer.
