We had a good service at Clifford's Grove Baptist Church Sunday. We were glad that those who had been sick were back with us
• Mrs. Juanita Bradford was a patient in Wills Memorial Hospital from Sunday night until Tuesday. On Friday she and Trudy visited her son, Dennis Bradford, at his home in Thomson. He had just had outpatient surgery at Doctors Hospital that morning. We hope he will feel better soon
• Pam and Ricky McCarty spent last Sunday night with their friend, Eddie Sorrells, in Snellville
• Amelia Hopkins of Elberton visited Iris Dyson Tuesday
• We are glad Sara Dees is at home now after being a patient in University Hospital. We hope she will continue to improve and feel better soon
• Our sincere sympathy to Scott and Janet Blaine in the death of his grandmother, Mrs. Lila Stoudemire, age 95, of Franklin, N.C. He attended her funeral Thursday. He stayed with his mother that night in Suches and they went back to Franklin Friday to spend the day with her family
• Chestene Short and Sheila Maynard of Elklick, West Virginia, spent the weekend with Janet and Scott Blaine. They all spent the day Sunday in Augusta. Scott Maynard, who had spent two weeks with the Blaines, returned home with his mother Monday. He visited Sue Davis Thursday and Friday
• Keeley and James Lance of Augusta spent the weekend with Willard and Sue Lance
• Pam McCarty and Angie Strother made several business trips to Atlanta during the week
• Samille and James Sherrer attended Wednesday night prayer service and Sunday night worship service at New Life Baptist Church
• New Life Baptist Church began services on January 4 at the church formerly known as Washington Chapel. They are presently holding services in the basement on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Wednesday at 7 p.m. with very good attendance. They will begin services in the sanctuary on March 1. The pastor is Rev. John Smith of Watkinsville. He and the members invite everyone who is interested to attend services
• What the new year brings us will depend a lot on what we bring into the new year.
