Funeral services for Annie V. Long Gresham, 55, of Baltimore Way, Washington, were held Saturday, January 10, 2009, at New Saints CME Church with Dr. Charles E. Henderson, pastor, officiating. Interment was in City West Cemetery. She died Saturday, January 3, at Wills Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Gresham was the daughter of the late Alberta and Richard Long of Wilkes County. She was a member of New Saints CME Church. She was kind lady who could not turn her back on anyone who was in need.

Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Deniese Taylor, Washington; two sons, Scottie Long, Elberton, and Jimmy Mickens, Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Kay Frances Cobb and Patricia Long of Washington, and Chris Zellars, Athens; three brothers, Robert Long, Washington, Silas Carter, Athens, and Paul Carter, Tucker; and nine grandchildren.

Nephews served as pallbearers.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
