Funeral services for Allen Gresham, 88, of Atlanta, were held Friday, January 9, 2009, in the T.A. McLendon Memorial Chapel of Davenport-McLendon Mortuary, Inc., with Rev. Dennis J. Quinn officiating. Interment was in Resthaven Cemetery with military honors. He died Tuesday, December 30, 2008, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Mr. Gresham was a native of Wilkes County and was the son of the late Lillie Gresham. He was raised by his grandparents, Georgia and Alex Gresham, and was affectionately known as "Bubba." He joined the United States Army in 1942. He worked for Broom, Brush, and Straw as a truck driver for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline B. Gresham; a son, Michael R. Gresham; and a grandchild, Asher Weems.

Davenport-McLendon Mortuary of Washington was in charge of arrangements.
